02.02.2026 ~ Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games ~ Flag Ceremony

Ski Association of Hong Kong, China’s (SAHK) Chairman Mr. Edmond Yue attended the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC) Flag presentation ceremony for the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games (2026 OWG), alongside Eloise KING who will be representing Hong Kong, China in the Women’s Slalom competition. Adrian YUNG will also be attending the games as Hong Kong, China’s male representative in Giant Slalom and Slalom, but was absent from the ceremony due to having already flown to Italy in preparation for the games.
In attendance was Miss Rosanna Law (Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism), Mr. Carmelo Ficarra (Consul-General of Italy in Hong Kong), as well as various high profile members of the Hong Kong sports community. This flag ceremony served as a celebration of the achievement by the athletes and national sports associations (NSAs) for their efforts in having qualified to the highest level of sporting excellence - the olympic games. The event also served as a final gathering opportunity for the athletes to speak directly to the Hong Kong people through the media, and share their expectations as well as excitement going into the games. SAHK would like to thank the Hong Kong SAR Government, SF&OC, and the athlete’s families for their continued support in facilitating this pursuit of sporting excellence.
With the 2026 OWG set to begin on Friday 6th February 2026, SAHK would like to take this moment to reflect on the success of the SAHK development pathway which has led us to sending athletes to the Olympic Winter Games for the third cycle in a row. We began with one alpine skier Arabella NG at the 2018 Pyeongchang Games. Then two alpine skiing athletes, Audrey KING and Adrian YUNG at the 2022 Beijing Games. While this year serves as our most successful cycle yet, having had three athletes qualify for the 2026 games: Adrian YUNG, Eloise KING and Aerin KING. However, due to Olympic quota restrictions, only two athletes (one male, one female) per nation could be sent, therefore selection had to be made. We applaud the efforts of our athletes, their families, and our coaching team for this exceptional achievement. As well as the leadership from our Chairman in setting the agenda for this to come to fruition.

As we look towards the upcoming games, we celebrate the role that SAHK has played in bringing forth Hong Kong, China’s largest Winter Olympics Delegation in the city’s history. With Adrian YUNG’s top 10 finish at the 2025 Harbin Asian Winter Games, and Eloise KING’s historic 35th place finish at the Saalbach 2025 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, we are optimistic that our two athletes will represent the city well in Milano Cortina soon.

Best of luck to our SAHK team at Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games!
