Our Chairman

As Chairman of the Ski Association of Hong Kong, China (SAHK), my commitment is to be the driving force that bridges Asia to the world’s premier stage of skiing and snowboarding. The future of winter sports will grow significantly by the energy, innovation of the East. Hong Kong, as Asia's World City, is not just witnessing this shift—we are promoting it by working closely with Asian Ski Federation (ASF).

Our mission is built on three core pillars, designed to turn participation into world-class performance and local passion into global recognition.

1. Building the Bridge to the World Stage. We are dedicated to removing the barriers that have historically separated Asian athletes from the global skiing scene. Through strategic partnerships with leading European ski nations, we will provide our athletes with world-class coaching, sports science, and international competition experience. We will actively bring major international events to Asia’s premier venues such as the Asian Alpine Ski Championships held in Jilin and Yanqing China in 2024-2025 organised by SAHK, proving that world-class competition thrives here. Our ultimate goal is to see the flags of Hong Kong, and our Asian neighbors, prominently featured at the start gates of the Olympic Winter Games and FIS World Championships.

2. Asian Ski Movement. The love of skiing is universal. Our mission is to make skiing and snowboarding accessible, affordable, and appealing to the diverse population of Hong Kong, China and the wider Asian region. We will pioneer urban training initiatives—utilizing Asia’s indoor snow centres, and tailored strength programs for the subtropical athlete. We are building a vibrant community that welcomes the weekend recreational skier with the same enthusiasm as the podium-seeking racer, because a broad and passionate base is the foundation upon which champions are built.

3. Hong Kong as the Hub of Asian Skiing & Snowboarding With our Hong Kong’s unparalleled connectivity, financial infrastructure, and global outlook, Hong Kong is the natural headquarters for the sport’s expansion in Asia. We will leverage these unique strengths to support the development of skiing nations across the continent, becoming a central hub for knowledge exchange, sports tourism, and the cultivation of a dynamic pan-Asian skiing identity.

In short, the Ski Association of Hong Kong, China is trying to transform Hong Kong’s subtropical reality into a strategic advantage, using our global connectivity to connect with the world’s snow. We are here to ensure that Asia is no longer just a source market for ski holidays, but a true powerhouse of ski talent.
