SAHK completes first round of Future Stars (5-7yrs) Assessment in Qianhai Snow World, Shenzhen, China

15-16.08.2026 ~ Ski Association of Hong Kong (SAHK) successfully conducted its two-day "Future Stars (5-7yrs)" athlete assessment on August 15–16, 2026. The event took place at the Hong Kong team's designated training base, Qianhai Ice and Snow World in Shenzhen.

The Future Stars program focuses on children aged 5 to 7, aiming to provide introductory training and pre-professional development pathways from an early age. By identifying promising young talent early, the program lays a solid foundation for the long-term development of snow sports in Hong Kong. Following two days of evaluation, three young athletes under 7 years old successfully passed the assessment and were selected for the Future Stars talent development pipeline.

To continuously expand Hong Kong's pool of young snow sports talent, the Future Stars assessment will become a regular quarterly event to discover outstanding new-generation skiers and contribute to the talent development system. Looking ahead, SAHK will leverage high-quality indoor ice and snow facilities in the Chinese Mainland to continuously deepen exchanges and cooperation within the Greater Bay Area. SAHK will remain dedicated to fostering introductory training and talent development for young children.
