SAHK held its 2026 Annual Dinner on August 22nd 2026, at the Royal Plaza Hotel in Mong Kok, Kowloon. Chairman Mr. Edmond Yue was in attendance with esteemed guests such as the Honorary Deputy Secretary Generals of the Sports Federations & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China Mr. WONG Po Kee MH and Mr. Philip Mok MH, as well as, Mr. Nicholas CHAN BBS MH, the Hong Kong Deputy to the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China, and more.

The occasion served as a wonderful opportunity to reward our existing athletes for their efforts this past year, while welcoming a record 22 new recruits to the SAHK Development Squad through our general assessment program. This season marked a new chapter in the development of ski and snowboard in Hong Kong, with our development program expanding to freestyle skiing, freestyle snowboarding, and alpine snowboarding. SAHK also celebrated the promotion of three of our young rising star athletes to the Bronze level of our development program, as well as, the promotion of our Hong Kong National Team member Miss. Aerin King to the Platinum level. SAHK then celebrated the addition of a new Honourable Member, Miss Eloise King. As achieved our association’s highest honour for her participation in the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games.

The evening’s awards then continued with the presentation of awards for Outstanding Results during the 2025/26 season, as shown below:

The occasion also served as an opportunity to share SAHK’s most notable achievement of the season, the co-organisation of the 1st Asian Indoor Ski Championships (Junior) 2026 in collaboration with HUAFA and Bonski. This championship was held in the world’s largest indoor ski resort, Qian Hai Snow World in Shenzhen, China which had only opened its doors in September last year. Following the success of the last two consecutive Asian alpine championships we hosted in China, this race brought elite teams from 12 Asian and balkan countries/regions to compete in 2 days of slalom races. We were proud to watch our very own athlete, Aerin King, win a silver medal in Women’s Slalom on the second day of competition, marking the first time an HKG athlete has podiumed at an Asian Ski Championships. Beyond athletic results, the event marked a new phase of the Shenzhen-Hong Kong cooperation in advancing winter sports across the Greater Bay Area. Looking beyond South China and with the continued success of our events, we hope that our continued collaborations with our partners in Shenzhen and greater China continue to promote and champion winter sports throughout Asia.

Finally, this event also served as a fundraiser to support the efforts of SAHK athletes on their road to competing in future Olympic Winter Games, as well as, other major alpine skiing and snowboarding events all over the world. Chairman Mr. Edmond Yue would like to thank our sponsors for their continuous support, all of our fantastic athletes for their hard work in training and competitions, and of course, all the parents for their contribution and patience in supporting the young talent in SAHK in their pursuit of athletic excellence. We hope to build on our great work here at SAHK in further developing winter sports in Hong Kong and the Asian region, and providing more opportunities for Hong Kong young talent.
